Polycrystalline Solar Solutions

Polycrystalline solar panels have been used in various applications for decades. The first patent for the solar cell was in 1941 and the first large scale use for solar electrical energy was space satellites. As with many technologies which started with the space program, the efficiencies of polycrystalline panels has increased and the cost has decreased making them more readily available for our society.

Polycrystalline solar panels are routinely used in roof top and ground mounted applications with a proven track record. The power output of polycrystalline panels are much higher than thin film panels, but the weight of polycrystalline panels is much higher than flexible thin film panels.
